Online Dance Teachers Training
The NDTA (National Dance Teacher Association Of America) is now offering online dance teacher training certifications for candidates looking to get certified in all styles of ballroom dance:
- American Rhythm : Cha Cha, Rumba, East Coast Swing, Bolero, Mambo
- American Smooth : Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot, Viennese Waltz
- International Latin : Cha Cha, Samba, Rumba, Paso Doble, Jive
- International Ballroom : Waltz, Tango, Viennese Waltz, Slow Foxtrot, Quickstep
In these courses, you will learn the Leader’s and Follower’s parts of all the figures in the Bronze Syllabus.
You will learn the technical elements from a teacher’s perspective and how to communicate them effectively.
The course provides full immersion into the world of ballroom dancing.
Students participating in this program will become highly qualified teachers. The training provided includes proper technique and terminology. Upon completion of the course program, successful candidates can be tested for Certification by an Examiner for Bronze Teacher Certification. Certified Teachers are potentially desirable employees in dance studios, and educational centers around the country, because of the level of expertise this training provides.
This online Ballroom Dance Teachers Training prepares potential ballroom dance teachers to become Certified Ballroom Dance Teachers recognized by the NDCA (National Dance Council of America) through the NDTA. Students learn how to dance both as Lead and Follow, how to teach, referencing a standardized, nationally recognized Syllabus. The program takes students on a journey that greatly enhances their own dancing, and prepares them for a highly successful career as a ballroom dance teacher.
Starting with the American Rhythm, classes are held once weekly on Tuesdays at 5pm for 75 minutes each. Make up classes can be available for missed classes at private lesson rate. This is a 10-week dance teachers training program for American Rhythm: Cha Cha, Rumba, Swing, Bolero, Mambo. This is a fast pace dance training, therefore candidates are required to be familiar with the dance figures for each dance program. A passing grade of 75% or higher will be required for both theory and practice portions of the exam.

UPON COMPLETION OF DANCE TEACHER TRAINING PROGRAM, A FINAL EXAMINATION WILL BE SCHEDULED, AND A PASSING SCORE OF AT LEAST 75% IS REQUIRED TO BE CERTIFIED BY THE NDTA. A TEACHER CERTIFICATE WILL BE SENT VIA EMAIL!

Like any professional certification, there are costs associated with becoming a certified ballroom dance teacher. Consider it an investment in yourself, your education, and your career. The four main expenses are:
1- The NDTA Online Teacher Training Certification
This is a 10-week dance teachers training program for American Rhythm: Cha Cha, Rumba, Swing, Bolero, Mambo. The cost varies between $200 (early bird – before 2/1/23) and $225 (regular-after 2/1/23) for 10 weeks of training.
2- The NDTA Teacher Membership ($50 annually)
Once you passed the exam, a Teacher Membership is required to certify with NDTA and includes numerous benefits for your dance education and career.
3-The Exam ($75)
Costs vary depending on level of exam and style. For the Bronze Teacher Training Exam, the cost is $75.
4-The Examiner (To be Determined with Examiner)
Examiners have their own rates which can vary based on level of exam and style. You are responsible for your examiner’s fees and costs.
